What is Coaching?
Coaching is a simple approach to making monumental changes in ones life. The most simplistic explanation to coaching is showing people how to move past the blockages that prevent them from achieving their desired personal success. When you partner with a great coach there is no limit to your personal growth and development.
What is coaching used for?
The best use for coaching from my perspective is to help clients set and achieve personal goals. Many clients assert that they have been trying to do this for a while but were ineffective in this process. Coaching assists them with being clear, concise, and consistent towards the attainment of goals.
How does coaching differ from therapy/counseling, training, and mentoring?
The primary focus of coaching is to help clients work towards complete goal attainment for present day issues. The client guides the direction of coaching and the coach helps them apply the necessary tools to improve their lives. While coaching and therapy have similar themes, clients who seek therapy services usually have deeper psychological issues that may not be suited for coaching. For example, a client presenting with severe depression and stating that they are having suicidal thoughts would not be appropriate for coaching. Therapy services would be better suited for the client.
